Young Turk Is Finishing Up His Autobiography

Young Turk @ Club Whispers

Tab Virgil
aka Mr. Young N Thuggin presents to the world the YNT empire. With only a few more months left to serve at the Arkansas Federal Prison, until his release, Mr. Young N Thuggin's demeanor is calm but heavily charged with positive energy as he prepares to release in to the world and avalanche of projects that will serve as the reintroduction of a redeemed, recovered heroin addict and resilient "all-star" rapper and bussinesman.

As he finishes the final stretch of his sentence, he's been busier that any other time during his eight years of incarceration. He is putting the final touches on his epic and therapeutic autobiography entitled
"The Autothugography of Turk" with Terrance "Tea Mack" Mcclurge.

Also scheduled to accompany the release of his autobiography will be the audio-book version; the soundtrack/mixtape and screen play for his bio-pic/movie
"Reckless" that has already gotten the attention of a few well-knoen and respected film producers (Twenty-City).

Synopsis of "The Autothugography of Turk":

Former Cash Money Records
"Hot Boy Turk" offers with his auto-thugography his life as a living testament of his young n thuggin pain, struggles, mental-maturity, spiritual growth and his redemption. Tab 'Young Turk' Virgil Jr. from New Orleans Uptown Magnolia Projects, as a young aspiring football player dared to dream. After developing his ability to and passion for rapping, his skills caught the attention of Cash Money Records Slim and Birdman (Baby) and how was recruited. After joining the ranks of Cash Money label-mates Juvenile, B.G. and Lil Wayne, Turk's presence helped create Cash Money Records sensational and platinum-selling "Hot Boys".

With their international succes, they were instantly bombarded with fortune and fame, but Turk was blind-sided by its admixture of evil. Read "The Auto-thugography of Turk" and travel with Turk through his action packed young life in New Orleans "Uptown Magnolia Projects", his years as a Cash Money Millionaire, his heroin and cocaine addiction, the 52 shots "shoot out" that he escaped in Memphis, and his attempted murder conviction and sentence.

Red Bull Music Academy Radio (Mannie Fresh)

Mannie Fresh might be best known as the creative mind behind the 90s bounce explosion. But his roots date way back in New Orleans' musical history. Back to the mid-80s. Back to when an unassuming rap record from NYC, 'Drag Rap' by The Showboys, turned the whole city upside down - and young Mannie started to make use of the turntables he was given as a christmas gift by his father, a renowned street DJ from the 7th Ward. Inspired by local DJ groups like Jam Patrol and Rockers Revenge, Mannie obsessively honed his skills on the ones-and-twos, and was eventually invited by NYC expat Denny D to join his then-ruling street party squad, New York Incorporated.

Driven by his musical curiosity, he soon incorporated the Roland TR-808 drum machine into his live performance, making it a true trademark sound on the New Orleans club scene, and consequently started producing beats for one of the first local rap heroes, MC Gregory D. After three albums, the duo parted ways, and Mannie joined the then-emerging record label run by infamous street hustlers Bryan 'Birdman' Williams and Ronald 'Slim' Williams, Cash Money Records. In his 12 years with the label, Mannie laced countless hits for all artists on the roster, from U.N.L.V., to B.G. and Juvenile, to the supergroup Hot Boyz that also comprised an underage Lil Wayne.

He also joined Baby to form the duo Big Tymers, and eventually went solo as a rapper, producer and all-round good vibes machine, scoring more hits with the likes of UGK, Gucci Mane, and Rick Ross. After a brief stint at Def Jam South, he started his own imprint, Chubby Boy Records, and is also back to what once got him started in the industry: DJing. This is a selection of landmark tracks from his vaults. Go DJ! Go Nola!

Man Convicted of killing friend of Juvenile

Source
A man was sentenced to life in prison on Thursday (January 12) after an October conviction of the 2004 murder of a New Orleans resident and friend of Juvenile.

According to NOLA.com, Charles Raymond was convicted of killing Nathaniel Robertson, a family friend of Juvenile’s, following an incident in which Raymond and friends wanted to jack Robertson for the car he was driving. The vehicle, a Hummer H2, actually belonged to Juvie’s brother and Robertson was said to be caring for it for the time being. The 37-year-old was shot by Raymond in the back five times and lost his life during the incident.

Reports say that witnesses testified that Raymond was not hush about what had gone down, as he bragged about the killing following a brief stint in jail.

Initially, Raymond, along with four other men, were arrested following the murder. However, things did not go as planned for the prosecution in state court, which triggered a federal investigation as the case fell apart at the local level.

In addition to Raymond, three other men will be serving time for their roles in the incident.

Juvenile’s upcoming album, Rejuvination, is tentatively slated for a January 17 release. The first single, “Power,” was released online in November, and is produced by Mannie Fresh and features Rick Ross. After cooking up heat for a number of years as the anchors of Cash Money, Juvie and Mannie reunited for the first time on wax in years on the single.

C-Murder’s Appeal Denied by Louisiana Court

Enlace

C-Murder's appeal denied! He was convicted of murder in 2009 No dice for jailed rapper C-Murder, who has lost his latest appeal to overturn his 2009 murder conviction.
C Murder, born Corey Miller, was sentenced to life in prison in 2003 after he was found guilty of the 2002 murder of 16-year-old Steve Thomas in a nightclub in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The conviction for second degree murder was overturned in 2006 and a second trial took place in 2009. But Murder/Miller was once again sentenced to spend the rest of his life behind bars. Miller, the younger brother of rap star Master P, claims he is innocent. He initiated an appeal earlier this year, claiming he didn't receive a fair trial because jurors were allowed to hear unsubstantiated testimony about witnesses allegedly being threatened by him.

But a three-judge panel at Louisiana's 5th Circuit Court of Appeal rejected the motion on Wednesday and chose to uphold the ruling against Miller and his lengthy sentence. So C Murder will remain incarcerated.

What do you think of this case?
